Champaca is a type of magnolia tree which is favoured for cultivation in the gardens because of its fragrant golden flowers. Native to Southwest Asia, it’s widely used as a decoration in Buddhist and Hindu temples, as well as the source of incense placed around the altars. Champaca flowers are so highly rated, they are a base for 2nd best-selling perfume in the world, called Joy by Jean Patou.”
